The Audi Q5 represents one of the most modern luxury SUVs available today. Audi has gone above and beyond with integrating new technology and comfort into the style of their SUV. The vehicle may not be quite as luxuriously equipped as the Mercedes, but it definitely boasts more tech in every inch of the cabin. The style is a little bit more conservative and stripped down even in the most luxurious version of the Q5, but the ride is very comfortable especially for highway car. Audi has refined its powertrain this year to improve the ride quality but the only problem with this change to the Q5 is that it has sacrificed some of the sporty appeal of the vehicle. The Q5 and its powertrain does however offer four-wheel-drive is a midsized SUV and this can be particularly helpful for winter driving and slippery conditions.
The 2018 Mercedes Benz GLC class SUV is known for its upgraded cabin as well as the improved ride. If you are willing to upgrade the vehicle to the AMG version, you can also get class leading power alongside plenty of cargo space to take on almost any task. The GLC SUV can be customized incredibly well and you can choose a body style, and engine style as well as a number of cabinet grade interior touches. Whether you want an SUV that feels more like a limousine inside or a stripped down family SUV that has the power when you need it, the GLC can help you build just the type of SUV you might want. The main complaints with the 2018 style of GLC is that it doesn't come in a coupe style setup and this can change the way that the vehicle steers especially when compared to some of the C class coupes that Mercedes has to offer. If you are changing up to the SUV, it's likely that you will notice a difference in handling.
There are only a few minor details that separate these two vehicles. Even their mile per gallon tests on the highway and in the city are virtually the same. Many experts lightly rake the GLC SUV above the Q5 for its interior and for the number of customization options that are available from Mercedes for the vehicle. If you value of four-wheel-drive powertrain and you are looking for more tech integration with your SUV, the Q5 may be the choice for you however.
The race for these two luxury SUVs is very close so you should really test drive both of them before making a decision!
