Steven McLellan Hoy, 56, died peacefully at his home in El Paso, Texas, on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Born and raised in El Paso, he attended St. Clements School, El Paso High School, Southern Methodist University, where he received a Bachelor of Science, and Baylor University where he completed a Masters in Geology. Mr. Hoy was also a graduate of the National Automotive Dealers Association (NADA) Delaer Academy.

Steve lived for adventure and loved the outdoors, hiking, heli-skiing, mountain biking, golfing, tennis; howver, most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Steve was just as passionate about work as he was about having fun. A scholar and mentor of the automotive industry, he was Chief Operating Officer of Hoy Family Auto and was both a leader and a role model for his staff with whom he often became very close. Steve also loved El Paso and its community. He was active in YPO, El Paso Community Foundation, served as TADA Director 2014-2016, Kern Place Association, and St. Patrick's ACTS.

Preceeded in death by his father, Bob Hoy, Jr., and his brother Rob Hoy III. Steve is survived by his wife Annette Hoy and his four children: Drew Hoy and his wife Kate; Meg Hoy, Beth Hoy and Allie Hoy. Mr. Hoy is also survived by his mother Rose Ann Hoy, his grandson, Hudson Steven Hoy, and his canine companions Rocky, Honey, Pasha, and Levi Hoy.

In 2016 Steve agreed to be interviewed by El Paso Inc. attempting to educate and raise awareness for Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Steve dealt with his illness as he did with most things in life - displaying an unwavering positivity and treating it as an opportunity to make himself and others better.

A third generation car dealer, my grandfather started these dealerships back in the seventies and my father grew it into what it is today. I was raised in El Paso and graduated from El Paso High. I graduated from the University of Denver with my BSBA. After graduating, I entered the auto industry in Denver and now have experience in the sales, service and parts departments. While working in Denver, I also graduated from the National Automobile Dealers Association and look forward to keeping the tradition alive. 

I entered the car dealership business since 1986 as an office assistant. The best thing that happened to me 20 years ago was to be offered a job at Hoy Family Auto, which I also consider as family and home and love being a part of it. All these years have been a great and growing opportunity. When it comes to personal time I mostly spend it with my family and volunteering at my church.

I started my career at Hoy Family Auto 6 years ago as a part time office assistant when I was given the opportunity to work and study. I have since then accomplished a Finance Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. I have grown so much since then and was very grateful to have been given the opportunity to continue grow and be part of this company who I've grown to love as family. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family.

I was born and raised in El Paso and graduated from Burges High School. I continued on to get my degree and found myself in the car industry soon afterwards. I have been successful because of my passion to succeed and providing the highest level of customer service.

I have over 20 years of experience in finance and the auto industry. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my wife and four wonderful children.

I am a native El Pasoan who has serviced many customers in the automotive industry for more than 38 years. Customer satisfaction is the driving force in all that I do. 

I started working at Hoy Family Auto in 2003. I have 15 years of experience with Mercedes-Benz. I became a master tech in 2008.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated high school in 1978. I was active duty from 1978 to 1982. Shortly after, I moved to El Paso in 1985 after which I began working at Hoy Family Auto on Subaru and Volvo in January 1986. I began working on Mercedes-Benz in 1993. In 2012 I became a Volvo Expert Certified technician prior to the franchise being sold. Currently, I hold the Star Certification with Mercedes-Benz and still serve in the U.S. Army Reserves. I am married with ONLY 10 kids.

I have been in the automotive industry for 17 years. I was hired by the Hoy Family in 2007. Later that year, I graduated from Western Tech with an Associates in Automotive Technology and I was certified as a Master ASE Technician. In 2010, I achieved my certification as a Master Mercedes-Benz Technician. One of my top priorities as a technician is to ensure that the work gets done right the first time.

I've been with the Mercedes-Benz brand since 2003 and was certified a few years later. I've been with Hoy Family Auto since September 2011.

I was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky in 1974 and moved to El Paso in 1981. I attended Andress High School where I graduated in 1993. I obtained my associates degree from Western Tech in 1995 and began working at Hoy Family Auto in 2001.

I have worked for Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen as a warranty administrator for the past 16 years. I take pride in what I do and make sure to do my best each and every day.

I have worked here as a shuttle driver since November of 2013. Before retiring, I had worked as a retail manager for 30 years. I've owned 5 business to include three coffee shops, one convenience store and a bar.

I was born and raised in the Sun City. I have worked in the automotive business for 5 years. My favorite pastime is cooking, dancing and making memories with my family.

I have been in the automotive business for five years now, I enjoy working with Hoy Family Auto. My goal is to give our customers the best service possible and truly give them a memorable experience. In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my family, as well as working on trucks and playing baseball.

I began my journey with the Hoy Family 26 years ago as a shipping and receiving clerk. I have experienced the various parts consultant positions and know the demands of our customers. A fun fact about me is that I was born in Panama City, Panama and love to play basketball and travel. I also enjoy spending time with my daughter.
